What mechanical/sealing methods do Rotork use to achieve the IP68 rating on IB/IS units - i.e. labyrinth sealing/gaskets
All of the IS and IB gearboxes use oring seals. Silicone sealant is advised for mounting the gearbox to the valve flange and also to seal the plug or covertube to the gearcase. The input shaft for IP68 gearboxes would be a form of protected steel. For IP68 applications the correct paint should be selected to suit the environment.
