Kelly, now Environment and Deployment Lead at Rotork, says she’s excited by the range of people she gets to work with and the scale of what she’s helping to deliver.

“Being part of the D365 global rollout is something I know I’ll look back on and feel genuinely proud of,” she said. “It’s not often you get to contribute to something so big alongside such a supportive team.

“There have been several moments throughout this project when different teams needed to come together to untangle issues. On my own, I could only see the part of the problem that affected me. As a team we were able to piece everything together and find a solution that moves things forward.”

For Kelly, #EngineeringIntelligence means people and technology bringing out the best in each other. “Humans are great at understanding context, asking thoughtful questions and imagining new possibilities,” she said. “Technology helps us take those ideas further. When those strengths come together, we make smarter decisions, design better solutions, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.”

Kelly highlights the importance of human attributes in STEM careers. “Curiosity and persistence matter far more than having everything figured out from the start,” she said. “You learn by being willing to explore new ideas.

“There’s so much space to grow and so many different paths to explore. My advice would be to stay open minded, trust your ability to learn and not be intimidated by the pace of change, because in STEM things change and evolve all the time.”
