I am a PMO Analyst & Project Manager catering to the delivery of our Growth + Strategy through the management of our Tier 1 project portfolio. I also Project Manage key strategic initiatives that help enable a sustainable future for Rotork and monitor our Health & Safety practices.
What kind of technology at Rotork do you work with on a regular basis?
Microsoft Office applications such as Excel & PowerPoint as well as the occasional use of software such as Microsoft Projects for project facilitation and tracking. I also use Adobe PDF to build reports and dashboards. I use Power BI to a limited extent. Rotork has allowed me the opportunity to become well versed with SharePoint through activities such as site creation and management.
What does an average day at Rotork look like for you?
I normally start with a coffee, check my emails and plan my day ahead. I often have check in meetings with my Project Teams and Executives at the start of the day to review progress and updates. I conduct risk assessment workshops with my Project Teams on a regular basis. I also speak to Business Leaders and Project Managers of other initiatives to track implementation of our strategy across the organisation and build informative reports for the Senior Leadership. This allows me to speak to a wide range of stakeholders and has enhanced my knowledge about the business and different End Markets. I usually use the afternoons to conduct my remaining meetings and update my project documentation/reports.
At lunch time, I usually take a walk by the river down to the factory canteen to grab a meal whilst enjoying the scenic view.
As a team, we strive for continuous improvement and keep up to date with evolving technology which is why I am encouraged to also have meetings with external companies to explore the latest Project Management tools / applications available.
