Increased reliability and improved asset management at Irish Water plant

Overview

Irish Water has installed Rotork’s intelligent CKc range of modular electric actuators at the Kilkit Water Treatment Plant in County Monaghan as part of a major modernisation programme.

Challenge

Irish Water is Ireland’s national water utility company, providing and developing water provisions across the country.

Solution

Irish Water undertook a modernisation programme at a water treatment plant in County Monaghan, requiring the provision of reliable on/off control, position monitoring and data logging of operating history.

Result

The flow control solution chosen was the installation of CKc actuators; CKcs are CK actuators with the addition of a Centronik control module, which offers isolating duties. They were selected as they offered a fully compliant and cost-effective solution to meet the desired specification, which included a quick delivery schedule.
